Petra Schnakenberg is a set & costume designer. Furthermore, she works as a model maker for film & theatre designs.

She studied scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (Prof. Anna Viebrock), Mozarteum Salzburg and ENSAD Paris. After her studies, she has worked as a stage and costume assistant at the Bregenz Festival, Salzburg Festival, Bavarian State Opera, Opéra national du Rhin, Zurich Opera House, Frankfurt Opera, and so forth. Petra received scholarships of the BKMOES (Start Scholarship), the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (Mentoring Program) and the Deutsche Bank Foundation (Akademie Musiktheater heute).

Petra's designs appear in productions and exhibitions for Deutsche Oper Berlin, Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater, Theater Dortmund, Fabriktheater Zurich, Dschungel Vienna, Theater am Werk Petersplatz and Elektrohalle Rhomberg Salzburg, among others.

In her artistic work, Petra explores the model as a medium in the performing arts.
